massage
altTHERA specializes in therapeutic body work, which can help relieve your pain, rehab old and new sports injuries, reduce stress, and help you relax. Our therapists use deep tissue massage and myofascial release techniques, providing relief to tight and sore muscles and releasing the body’s chronic tension patterns.
- Deep tissue massage involves deep pressure on muscles that are tight or knotted, focusing on layers of muscle deep under the skin.
- Myofascial release techniques use long stretching strokes to release muscular tension.
Our highly skilled massage therapists tailor each massage to your specific needs – no “one size fits all” here. Massage pressure can be as deep as you need it to work out the knots you have spent years building.
Therapeutic body work is our specialty, but if you are just looking for relaxation, altTHERA’s therapists can provide that too. A soothing massage that will help you feel calm and relaxed is just a phone call away.

During a massage therapy session
At your first massage, the therapist asks a few questions about how you’re feeling, your medical history and stress level. This is the time to point out areas of pain or specific needs you want addressed during the massage. This will help the therapist structure the session so it best meets your needs.
Our thickly padded tables with comfy fleece covers and warming pads help start your relaxation. Soothing cream is used during the massage, which allows the therapist’s hands to move freely across your skin. If you think you might be allergic to the products, be sure to tell your therapist.
The therapist will leave the room to allow you to undress. Take off only as much clothing as you are comfortable removing. A sheet is provided for draping and the therapist will uncover only the part of the body being massaged. Depending on your needs, the therapist will massage either your full body or focus on specific areas. After the massage is finished, our therapists can provide you with some self care tips and stretching ideas.
