Michael Aquino, LCMT
Michael Aquino graduated
with top honors from the Cortiva - Muscular Therapy
Institute in Watertown, where he developed his
skills in massage techniques, extensive knowledge of
the body and personalized massage treatment
planning. He incorporates neuromuscular therapy,
myofascial release, structural integration and
acupressure in his treatments to bring about a
greater reduction in tension and promote the body’s
natural healing. Michael enjoys the experience of
supporting clients in recovering from acute and
chronic pain and injuries, while increasing
awareness of where tension is held in their bodies
to bring about a balanced, whole and healthy self.
Beth DeBari, LCMT
Beth DeBari, a graduate of the Cortiva-Muscular Therapist
Institute in Watertown, is a Nationally
Certified massage therapist. Taught under the Ben Benjamin system of
muscular therapy, Beth combines various techniques, speeds, rhythms, and pressures to
encourage relaxation, a reduction in pain, and promotion of body awareness
with her clients. During each session Beth focuses on tailoring the session
to the client’s needs to encourage a positive mind-body connection and
overall well being.
Carrie DiMartino, LCMT
Carrie DiMartino is a graduate of the New England Academy of Therapeutic Sciences and is certified in heated stone massage and pregnancy massage. With more than
10 years experience, Carrie’s expertise is deep tissue massage, working with clients to find the pressure level that works best for each situation. Her goal during a massage is to effect positive change in her clients.
Kim Eckel, RYT
Kim Eckel received her 200-hour certification from
Kripalu in the summer of 2006. Having practiced various styles of yoga for
the past eight years, Kim's teaching style is eclectic and flowing. Kim
welcomes those both new and experienced to her classes and enjoys
tailoring sessions to the goals of her clients. With a love for passing on
the treasures to be found in yoga's practice, Kim aims to impart her
students with the insights and tools that can be applied toward more
healthy living outside the classroom as well.
Jen Jaynes, LCMT
Jen Jaynes graduated in
2006 from Cortiva Muscular Therapy Institute in
Watertown. She specializes in targeted, therapeutic
massage to relieve acute and chronic tension and
pain in specific muscles. She incorporates deep
tissue work with myofascial release techniques and
Swedish massage to help her clients lead a more
active and pain-free life.
Sarah Johnson, Lic Ac
Sarah Johnson trained at the New England School of Acupuncture
and is a Nationally Board Certified Acupuncturist and Herbalist. She
combines both Chinese and Japanese-style Acupuncture to treat a
wide range of
conditions. Sarah specializes in the management and treatment of stress and pain,
as well as pregnancy, anxiety, and depression. While these are her
main areas of expertise, she is experienced in the
individualized treatment of a diverse population with various
medical conditions. She encourages client education and empowerment
while offering a natural, non-synthetic form of therapy.
During her training, she worked at the Dimock Community Health
Center in Roxbury and Pathways to Wellness in Boston, a center
which specializes in the treatment of HIV and AIDS.
Brian Kaminski, LCMT
Brian Kaminski is
a graduate of the Bancroft School of Massage Therapy
in Worcester. Brian’s
goal as a muscular therapist is to relieve stress and
tension, which can quickly build to the point of
intense muscular pain and increased risk of injury.
He works with a combination of techniques, including
neuromuscular therapy and myofascial release
techniques to release and soften muscles.
Purvi Patel, LCMT
Purvi Patel is a
graduate of the Wellness and Massage Training
Institute in Woodridge, Illinois. She specializes
in prenatal, deep tissue, and sports massage, with a
particular interest in muscle recovery and injury
rehabilitation. Purvi seeks to help clients improve
awareness of their own bodies and muscle tension
through massage, and works intuitively, combined
with an excellent knowledge of anatomy, to target
specific areas of tension. She draws greatly from
trigger point, myofascial, mobilization,
neuromuscular, and somatic technique to plan
individual sessions.
Mary Reece
Mary Reece
received her 200-hour yoga certification through
YogaWorks in Los Angeles. Her classes incorporate
Vinyasa flow with the alignment focus of Iyengar to
form intelligent movements with attention to detail
and alignment. By bringing internal awareness to the
body and breath through yoga postures, Mary hopes to
create an environment where a yoga student can find
calmness and clarity of mind during practice with
the intention being to take this inner peace off the
yoga mat and into daily life.
Jessica Shaw, Lic Ac
Jessica Shaw was raised in South East Asia and
completed a dual degree in Chinese Herbal Medicine, Chinese Acupuncture and
the more gentle style of Japanese Acupuncture. She holds a BA in
anthropology from Barnard College of Columbia University. She graduated from
the New England School of Acupuncture in 2006 and was nominated for the Compassionate Healer Award.
Jessica has had advanced training with Japanese Masters and specializes in stress and pain management, anxiety, depression, and
post traumatic stress disorder. Jessica also works at Harvard Medical School’s Osher Institute as a medical anthropologist on studies of Chinese Medicine, meditation and tai chi.
Megan Taylor, LCMT
Megan Taylor is a graduate
of Cortiva – MTI in Watertown and comes to massage
from a career in customer service. Many years spent
behind a desk fuels her desire to interact with
people on a more personal and meaningful level.
Integrating a variety of techniques, including
muscular therapy, Swedish massage and myofascial
release, Meg strives to find the right combinations
to address the specific needs of her clients. A
great believer in the power of the mind-body
connection, she seeks to encourage this connection
in her clients and in her daily life.
